Welcome to my website, formerly known as both artesculiacan.com and artesmonterrey.com

A little more than six months ago, I fled from the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, one of the most corrupt states in the country, in fear of my life.

The story of the uncovering of abusive , destructive, and completely unethical behavior by some of the most widely admired Mexican artists and artistic administrators, funded with public money,  is the story of my life for the last seventeen years.  It was my great pleasure to collaborate with and promote many young talents during my stay, as I had gladly done during my career as a teacher in the United States between 1972 and 1990.  It was my great sadness to see the abuse of such fine people by the powerful, self-adulating, and demonic Mexican hierarchy of the Arts establishment.  This in a country where the average daily pay is TEN dollars.

You can read about all of this by clicking on the appropriate link.  In addition, I invite you to listen to several of the Mexican singers that I worked with in the archives section.

Now that six months have passed, and I have had a time to heal, both emotionally and physically, I plan to take the opportunity to continue working with young artists in California, where I have relocated, while at the same time bringing  to light, the corruption in the  system south of the border that has caused so much grief.

In addition, I invite you to visit the photo diary of my puggle pup Giacomo, named for Signor Puccini, my favorite composer.  When I think of the sadness in Mexico, a moment or two with Giacomo is the cure.

Thanks  for visiting,

Eric Steinman
